Welcome to the Challenges category of the Tidymalism archives. Here you’ll find summaries of any decluttering challenges or minimalism games we’ve completed. There is also information on dealing with hurdles and what the experience is like.

Doing regular bursts of decluttering can be extremely helpful in keeping the clutter at bay. Stuff has a way of piling up all too quickly at home. Committing to a more intensive round of decluttering for a specific timeframe like 30 days or a week can really spurn you on! You can get things uncluttered very quickly by making a game of it. Decluttering can actually be fun!

  • Photo of a small, uncluttered, tidy bedroom with no closet, for a post about no closet bedroom ideas. The walls and door are white, and there is a white high board from Ligne Roset upon which clear acrylic jewelery boxes from Muji are kept. A colorful painting hangs on the white wall. The bedspread is white, and the bed has a beige pillow and fur runner on it.

Minimal monthlies with bonus content, woot.

@tidymalism
Sun, snow, rain: we’ve had it all this past month.
Are you in hibernation mode yet? I sure am!
Recently re-staked my 20-year old flatmate, Henrietta, who had reached absurdly monstrous proportions and was slowly, but with unequivocal confidence, striving for territorial control of the dining area 😳 Swipe for the before situation. I told you.
I never really show you my dressing room because I’m an absolute nut case when it comes to clothing and accessories. It’s definitely my biggest clutter challenge. This is one part of the closet unit and probably the tidiest section as it only holds blouses and handbags. I keep post-its on the inside of the door indicating which bags are where on each shelf, lest I tend to forget the ones in the back. They’re kept in their dustbags anyway, so you can’t really find them at a glance.

Afternoon slump, #iictextures edition.
Heavy rotation #iichanging in the entryway. I’m a jacket and coat fanatic and always keep three or so high-street jackets of the same colour here, and switch them out seasonally. These are usually the ones I’ll quickly don to run errands around the neighbourhood. They camouflage the electrical unit built into this wall, which would otherwise be the worser eyesore. Open coatracks tend to look sloppy so keeping the curated selection of jackets monochromatic makes this solution less offensive to the eye.
Autumn colours coming in nicely. Tidying up this side of the terrace today whilst tanking some vitamin D. Enjoy your Sunday!
Amazing how much the foliage outside has changed in the past 14 days.
Fave #iicplacetosit and read 😊
Probably my most colourful little corner what with the songbirds, bright accessories, and original lithograph from Greek artist Michalis Arfaras. I keep jumpers inside this unit and frequently worn jewellery on top, in easy reach.
Colourful #interiordetails for the #instagraminteriorchallenge, kind of a crossover between #iiccolourful and #iicceramic 😁 I got the snail incense holder once on a biz trip to #vilnius — #lithuanianceramics are so beautiful (and so are Lithuanians, btw). The red container is another of my eBay #pantonera #vintage finds from probably two decades ago. I keep glue sticks and rubber stamp pads in it. And there’s a wee wee wee bit of my zine library on this here shelf.
